Acupuncture Jobs

Acupuncturist Job Description

In most states, licensed acupuncturists may operate a private practice independently, while some states require that an acupuncturist work in a subservient relationship with an MD. Acupuncture is used for a broad range of health issues, including chronic disease, pain, internal medicine, rehabilitation, and prevention based on Oriental medical theory. An acupuncturist questions the patient to make a diagnosis and determine which points to treat. Using traditional Chinese medicine, the acupuncturist makes observations of the left and right radial pulses, and analyzes the color and coating of the tongue. The treatment of points is said to promote the flow of energy, known as Qi, throughout the body.
