Chiropractor Job Description
A chiropractor typically works in private practice, group practice or
for other chiropractors in their practice. Chiropractors use natural
health treatments, without drugs or surgery, which relies on the body’s
inherent recuperative abilities. By adjusting vertebrae in the spinal
column, chiropractors believe it will eliminate obstructions of healing
and help disorders including low back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, and
asthma. A chiropractor may see a patient for twenty minutes to one hour for
six or more sessions.

Chiropractor Job Outlook
A recent survey shows that the job growth for chiropractors is
expected to grow faster than other occupations as the demand for
alternative medicine increases.
Recent research shows that people’s attitudes toward alternative
medicine have changed, and as they become more health conscious, the
surgery and drug-free methods of chiropractors are becoming more
appealing.
There are currently more than 60,000 active chiropractic licenses in
the United States. All 50 states recognize chiropractic as a healthcare
profession.
As the aging population expands, so does the likelihood of mechanical
and structural problems. This further increases the demand for
chiropractors.
