A dermatologist diagnosis and treats conditions of the skin and appendages including acne, athletes foot, hair loss, nail problems, rashes and warts. Dermasurgeons perform surgery including skin cancer surgery, laser surgery, phlebectomy (vein surgery), liposuction, chemical peels, �Botox� treatments, dermabrasion, and hair transplants. Pediatric dermatologists diagnose and treat skin conditions in children. Dermatologists also treat conditions caused by an altered immune system, and a number of other hereditary disorders. Dermatologists may work in hospitals, clinics, private practice, or offer house calls. They typically work full time, and are usually on call and work weekend hours, especially when employed at a hospital.
