Pharmacist Job Description
Pharmacists work in a variety of settings including community and
retail pharmacies, healthcare facilities, and home health care.
Pharmacists dispense medications and make sterile solutions for
intravenous medications. They provide information, make recommendations
and give advice to patients. Pharmacists are responsible for accuracy of
prescriptions and confidential medical records. Pharmacists may be
employed by pharmaceutical companies and health insurance companies as
non-traditional employment avenues.

Pharmacist in the United States is $95,473. Salary.com reports that the
annual average salary for Pharmacist in retail is $101,061, and for
pharmacists in home-care, annual expected salary is $89,680.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported a difference in salary
according to type of facility as follows:
- Department Store: $86,720
- Grocery Store: $85,680
- Healthcare Store: $85,380
- Hospitals: $84,560

the number of positions for pharmacists is supposed to grow faster than
