Anesthesiologist
An anesthesiologist is the perioperative physician and is involved in
all aspects of medical care during a surgical experience.
Bariatrician
Bariatricians are licensed physicians who prevent and treat health
conditions associated with obesity.
Cardiologist
A cardiologist performs diagnostic tests such as ECG, X-rays, blood
work, exercise test, and heart catheterization to determine significance
of heart problems.
Dermatologist
A dermatologist diagnosis and treats conditions of the skin and
appendages including acne, athletes foot, hair loss, nail problems,
rashes and warts.
Endocrinologist
By observing behaviors of the organs of the endocrine system,
endocrinologists can identify factors and treat symptoms of conditions
ranging from patients who are obese, patients with a lack of growth
hormone, and patients with hypertension (high blood pressure).
Family Practitioner
Family Practitioners plan and implement healthcare programs, as well as
prepare reports for other organizations.
Gastroenterologist
A Gastroenterologist works with patients to treat, control, and manage a
wide range of conditions. Some of the many conditions diagnosed and
treated by Gastroenterologists include acid reflux disease, hemorrhoids,
hepatitis, ulcers, hernias, and many more.
General Surgeon
Surgeons treat injury, disease and deformities, repair bone and tissue,
perform preventative surgery for debilitating diseases, while patient is
under local or general anesthesia.
Geriatrician
All geriatricians must be able to properly assess and approach geriatric
complications, as well as knowledge of appropriate medications, drug
interactions, and side effects.
Gynecologist
In some cases, a gynecologist can be a woman’s primary care provider, or
just a secondary provider for only women’s issues.
Hematologist
Hematologists are licensed physicians and many routinely work in a
laboratory setting practicing hematology management.
Internist
Internists use a variety of treatments and diagnostic techniques to
treat patients with medication or hospitalization.
Nephrologist
Nephrologists generally provide patient care to those with kidney
disease, diabetes, hypertension, and substance abuse.
Oncologist
In order to treat cancer, oncologists use various therapies including
chemotherapy, radiation therapy, hormone therapy, and vaccinations.
Opthamologist
Ophthalmologists may specialize and treat in certain fields including
corneal diseases, retina and vitreous diseases, glaucoma, pediatric eye
problems, and plastic surgery.
Orthopaedic Surgeon
Some common procedures performed by orthopaedic surgeons include joint
replacement and arthroscopy, repair of fracture, and back or spinal
surgery, to name a few.
Osteopathic Physician
Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine practice in all medical specialties,
including, but not limited to surgery, cardiology, intensive care, and
radiology. Osteopathic physicians are also allowed to pursue MD
residency programs, known as allopathic medicine.
Otolaryngologist
Depending on specialty, Otolaryngologists may treat conditions such as
sinusitis, hearing loss, cancer, tonsillitis, and many more conditions.
Pathologist
Pathologists may spend time teaching medical students, as pathology is a
core course of medical training. Pathologists may also perform
autopsies, although autopsies are usually performed by forensic doctors.
Pediatrician
Pediatricians communicate with nurses and other healthcare providers,
and refer patients to medical specialists when necessary.
Plastic Surgeon
Plastic surgeons perform a variety of surgical procedures including, but
not limited to, in their technical terms, mastectomy, contracture
surgery for burn victims, sexual reassignment surgery, Rhinoplasty,
Abdominoplasty, Augmentation Mammaplasty, Chemical peel, Collagen
injections, and more.
Proctologist
Proctologists work closely with urologists whose work focuses on organs
closely related to the colon, rectum, and anus.
Pulmonologist
Pulmonologists may use oxygen therapy to treat several respiratory
diseases, or in more extreme cases, mechanical ventilation.
Rheumatologist
Rheumatologists working in research are finding better employment due
to the advancement in understanding of autoimmune disease, which is the
cause of many rheumatic disorders.

Depending on specialty, Urologists may treat disorders including
prostate, bladder, kidney, testicular caner, male infertility, kidney
stones, and incontinence, as well as neurological disorders that affect
the urinary or reproductive system of patients, such as Parkinsons
disease or multiple sclerosis.
