Radiology Technician Job Description
Radiology Technicians take X-rays and prepare patients by explaining
procedures, and position patients in order to be properly x-rayed, or
for other imaging techniques. Radiology Technicians also use lead
shields and limit the size of the x-ray beam to protect patients from
radiation. It is very important that Radiology Technicians follow
physicians instructions and regulations of the use of radiation for the
safety of the patient, themselves, and their coworkers. Experienced
Radiology Technicians may perform more advanced procedures such as
fluoroscopy, CT scans and MRI. Advanced technicians may have alternate
titles such as CT Technologist or MRI Technologist.
