Rheumatologists may order diagnostic tests such as laboratory tests of
the rheumatic system, x-rays, and chemical pathology. Treatment options
may include medications such as steroids, non-inflammatory drugs, and
recently introduced antibodies. Physical and occupational therapy are
also treatment methods that allow patients to find alternative methods
for common movements and functions.
